Marpos Code of Ethics
I. Preamble – The Company's Core Values and the Objective of the Code of Ethics
The basic values of MARPOS include mutual esteem, trust, respect, decency, creating positive interpersonal relationships and adherence to high principles of professionalism in relation to employees, customers, business partners, suppliers, investors and the public.
The company's management is fully aware of its social responsibility and declares that it will follow these values and moral standards in its decision-making processes, as well as obliging its employees to adhere to them in their daily activities.
The aim of this Code of Ethics is to achieve:
- in relation to employees, a positive working environment with a friendly atmosphere and zero tolerance of any form of discrimination with regard to the promotion of the personal and professional development of our employees;
- in relation to customers and business partners, long-term partnerships based on mutual trust, respect and professionalism;
- in relation to the public, strengthening and maintaining the good name and reputation of a socially responsible company aiming at the sustainable development of electrical production.
II. Company principles in relation to employee protection
MARPOS declares that in relation to the protection of employees, it will apply the following principles:
- equal treatment for all employees, regardless of their race, ethnic origin, gender, nationality, religion or ideology, disability, age or sexual identity;
- zero tolerance for any form of harassment, humiliation, sexual coercion or intimidation;
- the right of employees to human dignity, privacy and protection of personality;
- emphasis on creating a friendly and dignified working environment based on positive interpersonal relationships, a friendly atmosphere and mutual trust;
- support for the further professional and personal development of employees.
III. Standards of employee conduct
Managers are role models of moral and ethical values for other employees and are responsible for adhering to the Code of Ethics for subordinate employees. MARPOS requires its employees to comply with the following principles of conduct:
In the field of interpersonal relationships
- We respect human rights and fundamental freedoms, especially the right to life and health, the inviolability of the person and his privacy, the right to the preservation of human dignity, personal honour and good reputation, freedom of thought, religion and expression.
- We respect freedom of speech and apply the principles of collegiality and cooperation in our actions.
- We respect each other and respect our colleagues.
- We adhere to the general principles of decency, good morals and honest conduct.
- Any critical suggestions against co-workers are submitted factually, correctly and on an objective basis.
- We maintain equal treatment of other employees and other persons with whom we come into contact in the course of our duties at all times, regardless of their race, ethnic origin, gender, nationality, religion or ideology, disability, age or sexual identity.
- We acknowledge that any form of harassment, humiliation, sexual coercion, intimidation, whether of a physical or verbal nature, is wholly unacceptable.
In the area of compliance with legal regulations and other mandatory standards
- In all areas of our work, we comply with generally binding legal regulations (laws, decrees, regulations, etc.) as well as all internal regulations and employer regulations.
- We take a position of zero tolerance for the commission of any crime, not only when it is committed in the name of or for the benefit of MARPOS, but also towards third parties.
- As part of our daily work duties, we take care to protect the legitimate interests of the employer.
- We are committed to the principles of sustainability and comply with regulations to protect occupational safety, health and the environment.
- In accordance with internal regulations, we protect all tangible and intangible assets of the company from devaluation, especially against damage, theft, waste or misuse.
In the area of conflict of interest
- We take a position of impartiality in our decision-making and promote fair competition. We try to prevent abuse of anyone's position to obtain an unjustified benefit.
- We try to avoid situations that would give the impression of the existence of a conflict of interest.
- We immediately inform the employer of all non-work activities and relationships that could be considered a conflict of interest (other gainful activity, private activities including political functions, etc.).
- We accept and provide presents and small gifts with caution only if they are judged appropriate in the given case. In case of doubt, we contact the relevant superior department.
In the field of communication with the media and the public
- We maintain loyalty to the company, protect the good name and reputation of the employer.
- We only submit statements to the media if we are authorized to do so. Any questions from the media are forwarded to the relevant press department or authorized person.
- When communicating on social media from a private profile, we do not speak on behalf of the company and do not share internal information of the company or its business partners.
- In the course of our employment, we may obtain certain information about the company, its structure, strategies, business activities, products, services, financial situation, performance, technical capabilities, methods, procedures and processes (including those relating to employee health and safety and/or environmental protection), customers, suppliers, business partners, employees or other third parties that is treated as confidential. We always take reasonable and necessary measures to protect such confidential information related to our company. It is not permitted to disclose or transfer any information outside the Company, even to members of one's family, unless its disclosure is duly approved and in accordance with a written confidentiality agreement. In addition, this information may only be disclosed in accordance with applicable regulations and applicable industry practices.
- We are also committed to protecting the personal data of everyone we work with, including suppliers, customers, consumers and employees. Therefore, we must comply with data protection laws and legal requirements for the collection, storage, processing, transfer and sharing of personal data, including the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Any falsification of records or misrepresentation of conditions or practices relating to our business or our supply chain, as well as any misrepresentation of business activities, is unacceptable. Our company
strictly adheres to the standards of fair and honest trade, advertising, and competition. We operate on a highly competitive market, but we never criticise or make denigrating remarks about our competitors. We must try to prevent situations that lead to unauthorized obtaining of information about competitors or could be interpreted as such.
- When we recruit candidates from our competitors, we don't ask for confidential information about their previous employer and we don't use any confidential information they may have.
IV. Final provisions
This Code of Ethics is binding for all employees of MARPOS. Employee conduct that is in direct conflict with this Code of Ethics may be considered a serious breach of work duties and labour law consequences will be drawn from it.
