Inspection of assembled printed circuit boards

Technology description:

For optical inspection of assembled printed circuit boards, we use AOI CyberOptics SQ3000. AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) is a technology used for the inspection of printed circuit boards (PCBs).
The CyberOptics SQ3000 is one of the instruments used for this inspection. This system is able to quickly and accurately detect various defects on the PCB that could be difficult to detect by manual inspection. The system is capable of detecting various visual defects, such as missing or misplaced components, incorrect component orientations, solder overflows, cracks, corrosion, and others.

A key feature of the SQ3000 is its ability to perform 3D inspection. This allows for the detection of defects that might be overlooked using only 2D inspection, such as unwanted height differences in the solder.

Micromex X-ray inspection of assembled PCBs is a valuable tool for ensuring production quality and detecting hidden defects that could lead to product defects or failures. This inspection step is important to maintain high quality standards when setting up the production process.
This method uses X-rays to transparently image the board and its components, allowing for visual quality control and detection of defects that might be hidden beneath the surface.
